HTC Bolt review

The HTC Bolt features speedy wireless and nifty audio, but little else to justify its sky-high price tag.

HTC Bolt review

A water- and dust-proof Android phone undone by software and price

Solid design and build ; Water resistant ; Android 7.0 out of the box

Incredible amount of bloatware ; No headphone jack or adapter ; Expensive

HTC Bolt would have been a decent phone if Sprint didn’t get its hands on it. The included bloatware is bordering on unacceptable and the phone is just too expensive for what you get.

HTC Bolt

The HTC Bolt for Sprint offers hi-fi audio, waterproofing, and a fairly clean build of Android, but it's held back by some consumer-unfriendly choices.

Metal unibody design. Crisp Quad HD display. Android 7.0 Nougat with lightweight UI. Waterproof. 24-bit high-fidelity audio. Fingerprint sensor, expandable storage, and dual-band Wi-Fi.

No headphone jack. Proprietary audio dongle not included at launch. Lots of bloatware. Dated processor for the price.

For $600, the HTC Bolt has an attractive metal build, high-fidelity audio, and recent Android software. But the headphone hoopla is a bummer, as is the dated processor and the bloatware. If you're willing to pay $170 more, the Editors' Choice Google...

HTC Bolt Android smartphone

Sprint launches HTC Bolt at LTE Plus Network : A blaze of lightning across the sky. A world-class sprinter dashing across the finish line. Stunning speed is thrilling, exhilarating and empowering - and like a lightning bolt or sprinter, speed was the...

Forged from glass and metal, HTC Android-based smartphone is a dramatic evolution of HTC’s “sculpted by light” design. The mobile handset features a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2K) display and it is the first water-resistant aluminum body smartphone, along with...

HTC Bolt Review

Smartphones come in so many varieties of sizes, designs, and feature sets, that it's enormously helpful to start grouping these handsets into a few categories: we've got our budget-priced phones, our big-screen handsets, models with incredible battery...

Nice look and feel ; Water resistance ; Attractive, bright display ; Mature UI look

Battery life isn't good ; Performance hiccups ; Software bloat ; Price is a bit high ; No 3.5mm jack

The HTC Bolt is a well-intending smartphone that arrives hampered by more than a few problems. The handset design is quite nice, and it's great to see HTC keep its classy metal look while upgrading water-resistance. We like the display, the included...

HTC Bolt Review: Awesome Audio Can't Save This Sprint Exclusive

The Bolt is a maddening phone. It has fantastic highs, including amazing audio and a slick, but sturdy, water-resistant aluminum body. But subpar battery life and dated specs mean that while the Bolt might have strong network speeds, it's not any...

Water-resistant aluminum body ; Bundled headphones offer fantastic high-res audio ; Sharp 16-MP rear camera

No headphone jack ; Mediocre battery life ; High price ; Way too much bloatware ; Sprint's superfast network speeds aren't there yet

While a bit pricey and equipped with aging hardware, the HTC Bolt's aluminum, water-resistant body and fantastic audio are true highlights for Sprint customers.

HTC Bolt Review

A Sprint exclusive, the HTC Bolt is being promoted by the infamous speedster Usain Bolt, and rightfully so. That is because the HTC Bolt is one of the most affordable ways to get access to Sprint's new LTE Plus network with 3x carrier aggregation — the...

Review: HTC Bolt for Sprint

HTC's Bolt for Sprint is a larger, more grown-up version of the HTC 10. It pairs HTC's high-quality hardware with Android 7 Nougat and Sense UI for a flexible, powerful combo. Here is Phonescoop's full review of HTC's latest smartphone.

The HTC Bolt is an excellent smartphone for Sprint. The device adds a true phablet to HTC's roster of handsets and it includes an attractive set of features for today's discerning buyers.

HTC Bolt hands-on: a time-travelling smartphone

In the United States, the new HTC smartphone is called the Bolt and is actually only produced for Sprint, the local network operator. The HTC Bolt will also be available in Europe but, confusingly, under a different name: HTC 10 Evo . In our first...

At first glance, the HTC Bolt hardly holds anything that makes it a (r)evolutionary step from the HTC 10. The hardware is older, HTC Sense with Android 7.0 Nougat will also soon be found in the 10 series. What is then left as an added value? The larger...
