Pantech Laser (AT&T Wireless)

Pantech has designed some sharp-looking handsets over the past few years. The latest to cross our test bench, the Laser, is one of the company's best, thanks to its impressively slim form factor. But like with many other recent feature phones on AT&T,...

Thin. Vibrant, high-resolution touch screen. Feels well-built. Roomy keyboard

Bloatware-infested. Disappointing camera. Weak reception. Must pull the battery to swap microSD cards. Micro-USB headphone jack. Expensive required data plan

The Laser is Pantech's most intriguing feature phone yet, but AT&T's skewed data plan economics will usually make a true smartphone a better buy.

Pantech Laser (AT&T)

The Laser is an impressively thin, stylish, and vibrant texting phone for AT&T subscribers who want to send lots and lots of SMS.

Thin. Vibrant, high-resolution touch screen. Feels well-built. Roomy keyboard.

Bloatware-infested. Disappointing camera. Weak reception. Must pull the battery to swap microSD cards. Micro-USB headphone jack. Expensive required data plan.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions The microUSB headphone jack makes finding third-party earbuds a pain, and good-sounding ones almost impossible. Sadly, the microSD card slot is buried underneath the back panel; you have to pull the battery cover and...

Pantech Laser (AT&T) review

Just when we thought the skinny phone trend was over, Pantech introduces the Pantech Laser, which it claims is the thinnest slider messaging phone AT&T has to offer. While we doubt it will retain this title for long, we do appreciate the effort, as...

The Pantech Laser is a slim and attractive slider phone with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3-megapixel camera, 3G, GPS, and plenty of multimedia features.

The resistive touch screen is not as smooth as we would like, photo quality was disappointing, and call quality was average.

The Pantech Laser's generous features and stylish good looks make it one of the better messaging phones in AT&T's lineup.

Pantech Laser Review

If there happens to be one handset manufacturer that places a lot of emphasis on producing solid quick messaging devices for AT&T, it has to be none other than Pantech. It was only recently that we began to see them to craft touchscreen devices, with...

Pantech Laser Mobile Phone Review

The last several years have seen an explosion of mobile phones, more and more of which are able to access features and apps via wireless broadband. Most of the attention has been on the big players with their “smartphones,” such as Apple's iPhone,...

Very slim profile

Touchscreen is frustratingly inconsistent in responsiveness

Review: Pantech Laser

Pantech fields one of the thinnest QWERTY sliders out there for AT&T in the new Laser. Did Pantech sacrifice too much to make it so thin, or did it strike the right balance?

Pantech Laser Review by Sydney

The Good: Super-thin, stylish form-factor; AMOLED display; excellent physical keyboard; fresh and fun UI; threaded text messaging.

Super-thin, stylish form-factor; AMOLED display; excellent physical keyboard; fresh and fun UI; threaded text messaging

Resistive touchscreen; camera lacks flash and autofocus; no headphone jack; sometimes laggy

The Pantech Laser is simply the best messaging phone on AT&T and probably the best messaging phone from the four major U.S. carriers. It's not perfect, but I felt that the pros definitely outweighed the cons. It is available now from AT&T for $99.99...

Kundenmeinung (cnet.com)

I highly recommend NOT buying this phone.

Overall, this phone was not worth the cost. Although it was $0 down with a contract, they slip in fees each month with total upwards of $200. The only things I liked about the phone were its nice keyboard and durability. I don't know how many times the...

Good keyboard, very durable (played tennis with it after the contract ended), fits almost anywhere

Slow, takes as eternity to access the internet, repeated messages, not a responsive touch screen, overpriced, bad call quality, less than okay camera.
