HP Spectre Folio

Swathed in swanky leather and kitted out with a new, power-efficient screen, HP's Spectre Folio is a unique, innovative ultraportable. Alas, its styling and pricing are as over-the-top as its performance is underwhelming.

Stylish, protective leather exterior. LTE connectivity option. Included digital stylus with sturdy holder. Comfortable keyboard. Silent operation. Excellent battery life.

Expensive as configured. Cramped, clumsy touchpad. No fingerprint reader. Heavy for the screen size. Mediocre computing performance. No USB Type-A ports.

Bottom Line: Swathed in swanky leather and kitted out with a new, power-efficient screen, HP's Spectre Folio is a unique, innovative ultraportable. Alas, its styling and pricing are as over-the-top as its performance is underwhelming.

HP Spectre Folio review

HP's leather-clad hybrid laptop is a stunner, but can it succeed in practice?

Luxurious leather-clad design ; Smooth, intuitive movement options ; Fantastic 1080p touchscreen ; Responsive in day-to-day computing tasks

Low-power processor can’t handle complex work ; Shallow keyboard won’t suit everyone

Stunning design, great ergonomics and a stonking screen, but not a huge amount of power for the price

HP Spectre Folio review

The PC reinvented?

Stunning design ; Impressive build quality ; Silent ; Lovely screen ; Stylus included

Very expensive ; Speakers aren’t great ; Battery life isn’t as long as promised.

The HP Folio Spectre is a gorgeously-designed convertible laptop that looks – and feels – incredibly premium. That’s just as well, really, as the price tag is just as luxurious.

HP Spectre Folio review: A prologue for the next chapter in portable PCs

More than just a laptop with leather accents, the Spectre Folio is a 2-in-1 that's partially made of leather and it makes the most of that unique material design to stand out amongst the crowd.

Incredible look and feel ; Magnetic hinge design

So-so performance ; A little bulkier than I'd like

HP Spectre Folio Review: A classy leather 2-in-1 ultrabook

If you've seen one laptop, you've seen them all, or so it seems. HP has challenged that notion with a new take on laptop design, eschewing metal and plastic lids, visible hinges, and port-lined edges for something completely different: a large, premium...

Impressive convertible design ; Gorgeous genuine leather exterior ; Excellent, firm keyboard ; Crisp, responsive touch display ; Long battery life and fast charging support

Audio is loud but lacks bass ; Middling performance ; Only offers USB-C and 3.5mm audio ports

Test HP Spectre Folio : notre avis - CNET France
