HP Spectre Folio

Swathed in swanky leather and kitted out with a new, power-efficient screen, HP's Spectre Folio is a unique, innovative ultraportable. Alas, its styling and pricing are as over-the-top as its performance is underwhelming.

Stylish, protective leather exterior. LTE connectivity option. Included digital stylus with sturdy holder. Comfortable keyboard. Silent operation. Excellent battery life.

Expensive as configured. Cramped, clumsy touchpad. No fingerprint reader. Heavy for the screen size. Mediocre computing performance. No USB Type-A ports.

Bottom Line: Swathed in swanky leather and kitted out with a new, power-efficient screen, HP's Spectre Folio is a unique, innovative ultraportable. Alas, its styling and pricing are as over-the-top as its performance is underwhelming.

HP Spectre Folio

There's a saying that I always heard as a kid: "Dress for the job you want." And by the looks of the HP Spectre Folio 13 ($1,299 starting, $1,608 as reviewed), the 2-in-1 is auditioning for a spot in some high-powered executive's arsenal. Clad in...

Stylish, premium leather design; Extremely versatile; Excellent battery life; Surprisingly comfortable keyboard

Tinny audio; Middling performance

HP delivers premium versatility and serious endurance with the leather-wrapped Spectre Folio 13.

HP Spectre Folio review

The PC reinvented?

Stunning design ; Impressive build quality ; Silent ; Lovely screen ; Stylus included

Very expensive ; Speakers aren’t great ; Battery life isn’t as long as promised.

The HP Folio Spectre is a gorgeously-designed convertible laptop that looks – and feels – incredibly premium. That’s just as well, really, as the price tag is just as luxurious.

HP Spectre Folio review: A prologue for the next chapter in portable PCs

More than just a laptop with leather accents, the Spectre Folio is a 2-in-1 that's partially made of leather and it makes the most of that unique material design to stand out amongst the crowd.

Incredible look and feel ; Magnetic hinge design

So-so performance ; A little bulkier than I'd like

HP Spectre Folio Review: A classy leather 2-in-1 ultrabook

If you've seen one laptop, you've seen them all, or so it seems. HP has challenged that notion with a new take on laptop design, eschewing metal and plastic lids, visible hinges, and port-lined edges for something completely different: a large, premium...

Impressive convertible design ; Gorgeous genuine leather exterior ; Excellent, firm keyboard ; Crisp, responsive touch display ; Long battery life and fast charging support

Audio is loud but lacks bass ; Middling performance ; Only offers USB-C and 3.5mm audio ports

HP's Spectre Folio is a leather-bound laptop, but will it really reinvent the PC?

HP Spectre Folio review - a leather-bound laptop that offers style and performance

90% VERDICT That there aren't many laptops that can tick all the boxes in terms of style, design, performance and connectivity. The HP Spectre Folio is one of those rare breeds - but you'll be paying a little bit extra for the privilege. Pros Stunning...

Test HP Spectre Folio : notre avis - CNET France
