Not as good as prior purchases of Intel SSD drives

It would be better if it were like the prior purchases of these drives I have obtained from you.

It appears in a antistatic sealed envelop to be the Intel 160 GB SSD.

Previously when you have sold me Intel SSD drives they have come in the Intel box - sometimes with SATA cords and and 2.5 to 3.5 inch adapter plates. I will not use the drive for an undetermined time - assume since it is sealed in what appears to be a...

After about a year...beware.

FYI, the ssd only gets about moderate usage for gaming, media, and applications like photoshop and aftereffect.

Fast.

Bought this on 5/1/11. Ran real nice as primary drive for OS Windows 7...then after a month, it died. Ok, maybe I got the bad batch? Shouldn't be an excuse anyways as this is very expensive. Contacted Intel regarding; about a week of PC downtime, I...

Pretty good

This is my 4th Intel SSD and my 5th SSD overall. Until the cheap SSD manufacturers release the details of their proprietary garbage-collection algorithms so we help them work more efficiently, I recommend sticking with Intel SSDs. I don't know how they...

Works flawlessly in a small Linux/Ubuntu as the boot/root drive. Executes a manual full disk TRIM (Linux fstrim / on a XFS file system with in <12 seconds, vs minutes for my smaller (90 GB) OCZ PCIe card. Totally silent (of course)

The usual for SSDs: the high price/GB. Intel SSDs command a premium price, but I think it's warranted; see below. Mac OSX Snow Leopard doesn't support or use the Intel SSD TRIM command. Apparently only SSDs from Apple are. It's Apple's fault, not...

lol double post

Since Jim decided to leave the same review TWICE, I believe it's only fair to leave mine again. If you just put this drive in, install a fresh 7 on it, and just leave it alone it should work just fine.

Fast. I've had this thing since May and I haven't had problems. My two year old laptop didn't even have AHCI under BIOS, so that wasn't a problem installing 7 pro 64 bit on. Price is lower than ever!

Battery life is killed if put to sleep. But I only need 30 seconds to turn this bad boy on, so powering down is a good idea. Frustrating using other people's computers now and wondering how they put up with a mechanical spindle anymore. Only 40 GB of...

2 of 4 failed so far.

was quick while operating

Unreliable. 2 of 4 drives have failed so far. We've stopped using the drives since we can't be assured of their reliability.

FW 0302 is faulty

I let the battery run out for the first time since I had the HDD, and now it won't come back up again. Apparently (from what I searched online) 320 SSDs with the firmware version 0302 (which is the one I have) have known issues. For users with a C2D...

It was a insanely fast drive.

It doesn't work anymore.

Never going back to a tradition HDD

This drive is amazing and has made me a firm believer in SSD. Boot time is insanely fast, and all my programs open up super quick. The only reason why I am giving this drive 4 stars is because it has a critical known issue that Intel has addressed via...

Price, POST and boot is quicker than my iPad, all programs across the board are much quicker.

A crucial firmware update for this drive does not work for my version of the MacBook Pro... yet.

Very impressed

Installed in a 13.3" MacBook Pro, 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 8 Gb RAM.

Incredibly fast boot times and program starts on my MacBook Pro. From a cold start, to full access in 17 seconds. Just as fast as my wife's MacBook Air, but with more storage space. Easy to install. I put in the drive, did a fresh install of Snow...

None so far.

Good, but didn't fix problem

I bought this mainly to improve my terrible boot up times. The SSD did all it could, and did help substancially (about 30 seconds), but my boot up time remained bad (over 2 minutes). I removed non-microsoft services and startup tasks (one of which was...

Cut 30 seconds from boot time. Application startup very fast.

Great experience so far, Intel makes SSDs easy.

Just some thoughts after installing the drive: 1) Yes you should install this drive with AHCI or RAID enabled in the bios (depending on your needs). 2) Trim should work fine with the newest Intel Rapid storage driver installed (trim will work if you...

This drive is fast, really fast (7.7 WEI on Win 7 64-bit). Easy to install, Intel SSD Toolbox is a handy piece of software. Hopefully Intel's reputation for reliability holds true for this product.

There are faster SATA 6 Gb/s SSDs on the market for comparable prices. As an X58 chipset user who would have to rely on the questionable Marvell 91XX SATA 6 Gb/s controller I chose to use the Intel ICH10R SATA 3 Gb/s controller.
